As we swarm over the finishing line of 2016 we’re ready for a rest and a glass of bubbles! But equally this Christmas break is a great time to let the dust settle, look back on some fantastic moments and clear your head ready to set out your goals for 2017.
For Jane and I, we’ve seen the second year of our business come to a close and we can’t believe how quickly it’s flown by. We’ve been lucky to work with some of the most amazing businesses this year that have not only helped to keep our hive buzzing but have inspired us with their passion and love for what they do.
We’ve been supporting these businesses with everything from writing blogs, e-newsletters and social media to managing venue bookings, travel planning and project management. The variety and scale of tasks, covering the full remit of our PA and Marketing services has certainly kept us on our toes and we’ve loved every minute of it…well almost ;). In the lead up to Christmas we’ve been overwhelmed with gifts of gratitude – mostly alcoholic and chocolate based – it’s like they know us! But really what makes us happy is knowing that the support we offer our clients is valuable and that we’re making a difference to their businesses.
We’ve had some lovely testimonials this year and one of our 2016 New Year Resolutions was to get client testimonials on our website…something I’m pleased to say we squeezed in just before we need to make 2017 Resolutions!
In between our client work and running the business we’ve also bagged a couple of awards! Earlier this year were pleased to receive runner up for North West VA of the Year after only 15 months in business. We were then shortlisted for the New Business Award at the annual Enterprise Vision Awards before Jane finally took to the stage to accept a Special Recognition Award from the Manchester PA Network – cue tears and more prosecco.
We’re big believers in “you’ve got to be in it to win it!” And, even if you don’t win it, there are plenty of opportunities to be had and lessons to be learned. Raising our profile has helped to secure us some great press coverage in the Manchester Evening News which has promoted the role of Virtual Assistants and has generated new business enquiries. Not convinced? Check out our top 3 reasons for entering business awards.
We genuinely feel lucky to part of a growing VA phenomenon in Manchester. More and more small business owners are realising the benefits of this flexible support – a trusty pair of hands to boost productivity during busy times or more regular support to give them back their valuable time, so they can focus on what they do best. Interestingly we’ve found larger businesses are also more open to outsourcing and flexible working too. Congrats to PWC for their very successful Virtual PA teams! Coming from corporate backgrounds ourselves, we’ve enjoyed securing some sizeable new businesses and exploring the opportunities that come with supporting in-house teams.
So, before we burst into tears of happiness we wanted to say a big thank you to all our lovely clients and everyone who has supported Queen Bee PA. Onwards and upwards!
If you’re looking to make 2017 more productive or need help to make your business shine, then we’d love to hear from you. Read about what we can do for you or drop us message!
#BeeMerry and have a happy and prosperous New Year.
